Sweet & Salty Strawberries

1 punnet fresh Strawberries
1 10x10x3cm Himalayan Salt block (at room temperature)
30g White Sugar

  1. Slice off the stalk of the strawberries
  2. Wash the strawberries lightly in cold water and gently dry using kitchen paper towel
  3.  Slice the strawberries length ways (each slice about 3 - 4mm thick)
  4. Place the strawberries on a board or plate and lightly sprinkle each side of the slices with the white sugar
  5.  Place the lightly sugared strawberry slices on the salt block for 20 seconds. Flip the strawberries over and let lie for a further 20 seconds.
  6. Take the strawberry slices off the salt block and serve immediately.
  7. Wipe the Salt block down using a clean damp cloth and dry using a clean dry cloth (do not use a lot of water to wash down the block, it will dissolve).

Note:
The longer you leave the strawberry slices on the salt block, the more saltier they will become and likewise, the shorter you leave the slices on the salt block, the less salty they will be. 

We suggest that the slices be served immediately, as the longer you leave them after having been on the salt, they will begin to dehydrate.
